PlayByMail.Net is a PBM oriented website, whose aim is to promote play by mail gaming and to give PBM gamers a place to gather. From this website has evolved the PBM Wiki, a blog, and Suspense & Decision magazine, a PBM magazine for the 21st Century. The site contains both a discussion forum and a blog. The site seeks to facilitate PBM gaming by serving as a major modern resource for play by mail.
Well, it appears that during my self-imposed absence of the last couple of weeks, the spam mice have been running rampant.
Hmmm...Not sure what happened with that, as usually we have little to any spambot registrations and postings, but I'll see if I can't get a grip on that.
What's that, you ask? Where's Issue # 10 of Suspense & Decision magazine? Did anybody miss it?
It's still in the works - I think.
Here's the front cover art for it, to tide you over a bit longer. I think that our cover artist, Kav, did a wonderful job on it.
So, where have I been, of late, while our avid readership has been patiently waiting for the issue that seems to be destined to never arrive?
Off doing other things. Taking a vacation, from the magazine, a rather without-notice one. I didn't know that I was going to be taking some time off for it, until I decided to do it. It will take us a little while, to get back on track, but the magazine will go forward for at least a couple of issues more. It's not dead quite yet.
In fact, Kav's great cover art for Issue # 10 makes me salivate at the prospect of more issues. What about you? Do you like it?
On the bright side, at least our readership has been spared from my editorial navel-gazing for longer than some might have thought possible. Will that last? Maybe.
Or, maybe not. We'll just have to play it by ear, and see how things go, over the course of the next couple of issues.
I have a BUNCH of e-mails in my in-box to catch up on, but I'm going to spend the next day or two trying to address the spambot issue. I'll also see if I can't upgrade the forum software to the latest version, as I think that they may have been an update to come available, in the meantime.
If anybody is near Bernd, our assistant-editor, then try to rouse him from his undeserved slumber.
And, to whomever was trying to ban all of the spambots in my absence, I appreciate the hearty effort!
